Overview

Bernice L. Rocque is an adjunct faculty member in Syracuse University’s School of Information Studies, where she will teach IST 600, “Collaborating Effectively with People”, during the 2012 Regnier Summer Institute.

Ms. Rocque is the owner of Three Houses Consulting LLC, located in Trumbull, CT.  The company specializes in project front-end loading and the human factors that influence business results in both projects and day-to-day business processes.

She received an MLS from Syracuse University, a BA from the University of Connecticut, and holds PMP certification of the Project Management Institute and facilitation certification (FAST Session Leader) by MG Rush Systems, Inc.

Ms. Rocque’s work experience has crossed multiple disciplines including information management, human resources (HR), and information technology (IT). After working in academic and public libraries in Connecticut, she joined Texaco in 1979 to create a state-of-the-art business library and to link the company’s U.S. information centers. Considered a benchmark operation at the time, the Texaco Corporate Library/Network established a model for much of Ms. Rocque’s later work at Texaco --- managing visible programs and projects requiring collaboration with diverse stakeholders to realize objectives.  Texaco job assignments followed in records management, division and corporate training, quality improvement, and internal consulting on Texaco's IT process team and project office --- all positions requiring collaboration with executives to front line in order to manage/improve diverse business and guide organizational changes.

More recently, teaching, speaking, consulting, and writing have afforded  Ms. Rocque the opportunity to share lessons about project success/failure and human change learned during more than three decades of work experience.
