Overview

Alecia Zema joined the iSchool in spring 2008 and has worked at the university in an administrative capacity for nearly a decade. She has experience with R25 class scheduling, creating Brio reports and running dashboard queries, data entry in MS Access, and expert knowledge in PeopleSoft. With the iSchool she schedules classes in MySlice for all IST, IDS, and GET courses, assists faculty members with such tasks as scheduling rooms for meetings in Hinds, scheduled events throughout teh university, and has aided in scheduling all incoming first year and transfer students for their Fall course load. In addition she creates class lists, posts faculty office hours, copies course materials, orders texts, prepares, distributes and maintains class evaluations. She uploads syllabi into the LMS archives, has assisted on multiple faculty searches and reviews, handles much of the school’s event planning (namely the DPS-IM residency and opening weekend receptions), assisted with several conferences and/or workshops, and proctored exams.

She provides general administrative support to student services staff members. She has worked since the summer of 2002 in a variety of administrative support positions throughout the University. Prior to joining the University, Mrs. Zema worked as in retail management for five years, for one year in corporate marketing/sales, and as an outside field technician / assistant construction splicer at Verizon.

She holds a B.A. from Russell Sage College in Troy, N.Y.
